Born in Sheffield, England, Mark and his family first moved to Dallas, Texas and then to Pittsburgh, PA. After high school, Mark decided to pursue his passion for the environment, his love of family history and his connection to his dual national roots at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) at their University Park campus. Mark was dedicated to graduating on time, choosing to attend classes during the summer at Penn State’s branch campuses. Because of this dedication, Mark was able to graduate in 4 years and 4 summer semesters with 2 separate degrees and a minor! Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management, a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics and a minor in History.
After graduation, Mark relocated to Connecticut and then pursued his passion for the environment and Indoor Air Quality further in NY. Mark commuted to Schenectady, NY and Pittsfield, MA daily which his family home was being built all the way from Copake, NY. During this time, Mark specialized in Indoor Air Quality, as well as Mold, Asbestos and Lead Based Paint Assessment, Management and Mitigation. This gave Mark the knowledge of many interconnected building systems that he passes on to his clients today.
After a divorce in 2014, Mark left his environmental/indoor air quality career behind to be able to be more present with his young children. He decided on a dual path to achieve this goal. He pursued his knowledge of building systems further by becoming a NY State Licensed Home Inspector. With this knowledge, Mark now approached home showings and inspections with deeper knowledge than many in the real estate industry.
Mark also decided to pursue a career as a NY State Licensed Real Estate Salesperson. This career shift allowed Mark to take care of his family and allowed the flexibility to be there when his young kids got on and off the school bus. Mark has two children, Ethan who is pursuing a career in Agricultural Equipment Management in Wisconsin and Julia who is attending the Crane School of Music pursing a music teaching career at SUNY Potsdam. Mark enjoys spending time with family, scuba diving and exploring his family history.
Mark has been a licensed REALTOR for the past 10+ years helping over 125 families throughout New York State buy, sell or find affordable rentals. Mark is a top-producing agent, transacting over $24,000,000 million dollars in sales. Many of Mark's clients are repeating past clients, client referrals, as well as agent to agent referrals. Mark began his career at Prudential Manor homes, later transitioned to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Blake, REALTORS and is currently working for eXp Realty, the largest real estate company in the US in terms of sales volume and number of agents (currently 90,000+).
His past knowledge and educational experience has fueled his passion for helping others and has shaped his financial expertise and commitment to supporting his growing community.
